More doodling experiments

This page started with three owls that i tried to draw.  (Yes, you get it.. Pinterest)  Now, I wasn't happy w/my drawing for the first two owls.  Now the last owl, (bottom) worked out not too bad.  So i just added a tree branch and then a whole tree. add different doodling to it and over the other two owls. ha!  The floral, butterfly dragonflies on the right is a rub-on that I had in my stash for quite some time.

(Sorry, is side ways..)

As ou can see I added more to it.  I feel it's complete. Well, looking at it now, I think i wanna color in the sun and the tree.

For this page, I was experiment with the square-step looking things.  I colored them in using my AC Metallic rakers.  The rest of it is just doodling around.

I added more doodling to this page, mainly in the center of the pages.  The word "WHY" .. well, IDK why i added those words.. LOL

Thank you for stopping by and looking at my side way pages. :p

Doodles

These pages are also from Pinterest inspired.  The first page is before I'm adding more to it.  I'm not sure who said this quote, I gotta look again.  I tried googling the quote, but I couldn't find a link/site of who said the quote.  I used Sakura Gel Glitter pen.  American Crafts Metallic Marker.

I added and will continue to add my favorite songs.  I used a medium Sharpie pen.  I like it.  Although, I noticed that some of the ink were smudging.  Not a whole lot it did smear a bit.  Also, my journaling for the songs (black ink) was smudging also.  I decided to add clear gesso to it.  And it smeared most of my work.  Hmm Oh well.. Live and learn, right?

This is something I tried to do everything.  Or 'throughout" the day.  LOL ON this particular day, I didn't finish it.  I was going to, but then I decided to leave it as it is..  (Again, found this on Pinterest)

Thanks for hanging in there with me.

AJ pages

These are some of doodling I picked up from Pinterest.  (I will come back and post my references for the doodling afterwards.)  Here are some of my pages that I'm working on.  Some are done.  Some, I don't quite feel their finished yet.  To me, there's something missing.

Here's a dress I drew.  I used to draw them all the time.  The word "dress" is supposed to have that "ribbon" font look to it, but I couldn't get the letter "D" to 'ribbon' correctly .. LOL

I wrote down the word "DIFFICULT" and tried to use each letter that had a positive word.  It's still not done yet, also.  I want to paint (transparent) over it, but not heavy enough where you can see the words.  I just don't know what color I want to use with it.  I suppose I'll know it when i feel it. :)

Here's another thing I like to draw - - Candles.  I tried to make the color purple on the big candle. using my gelatos.  It sorta smeared everywhere.  Tried fixing it, but I left it the same - again, this page isn't really done.  I'm not sure what else I would like to add to it.  I drew smaller lines up at the top of the page.  I used my prisma colored pencils to fill in the words..

This is one of my favorite pages.  I really need to get a white pen.  I've had 3 of them and they never really worked that well for me.  (Gelly roll, sakura, sharpie)   I used my gelatos for this.  I really like it.  I may seal it, so I can just be DONE. :-)

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.

EPIC FAIL!

There was a place where I had seen.. Draw your pets. LOL and obviously, I can't draw worth crap!  I went to pinterest of how to draw a pit bull.  T

This is how it was supposed to look.

Aaannnnnnnd this is how mine turned out.  Hey at least I tried, right? LOL I haven't done anything else to it, it's just like this still.  I did this last week. ha!

So then, I thought. "Oh Rusty will be easier."  WRONG.  Rusty is our Jack Russell Terrier dog.  Poor guy.

As you can tell, I'm better with sysmetrical objects.

Thanks for stopping by.

First two pages

These are the first two pages I did and then stopped for a long time.  I really love these colors and seem to gravitate towards them a lot.

This is something I used TO DO ALL THE TIME!  I wished I kept them all.. LOL Sory it's side ways.

Evernote

I've always lived Evernote and I've always known I haven't used it to its full capacity. Well, I've started using it to sorta manage just teeny tiny part of my life.  Now, I just hope it works. Ha!

I've made a few notebooks and one of them is PL.  Not sure if I've told y'all, but I'm going to do PL in a non traditional way.  I scrap out of order so why am I not surprised I don't PL in traditional order.  :)

I've sorta started sorting some pictures and I'm going to PL my pictures that way. Ha. Now granted, I don't know the days the pictures were taken or exactly what happened. But I will certainly give it the ole college try. ;). At least it's being documented right?

Over n out for now. Taffy

New Blog added

I found this blog by way of pinterest.  I used to love doodling when i was a kid and throughout my teenage years and into my adulthood.  I really miss it.  BTW, i'm no person that draws.. I can't draw if my life depended on it.  ha!

I'm also hoping this would get me back into doing scrappy stuff and help manage my depression a lil instead of always taking my meds.. Wishful thinking? I dunno yet...  Like everything else.. only time will tell. Wish me Luck!

HOLY COW!

Has it really been that long since i've made a blog entry? (September 2013).

Well, a lot has been happening since i've last blogged; naturally.  I'm been diagnosed w/depression that's been caused my neuropathic nerve damage from my shingles that i got over 2 1/2 years ago. Crazy, right?

Well, the last time I did some type of crafting was most likely earlier this year. :(  I wanna scrap, i wanna get my hands dirty, but it wasn't happening. *sigh*

Well, today, I LITERALLY had to dust off my gelatos. ha! so hopefully, something will get done, eh?

New binder

I bought this binder at Staples - on clearance.  I'm really excited about it - going to make it into a junk journal/smash book.

Mixed Media Projects

I am part of a round robin (again) mixed media projects - The theme was vintage Paris.  I'm so excited about this.  Cathy made this board book with the beads as the binding.  So cute! I love it.  anyway, here's her book with my entries in it.

I used my new gelatos for these projects.

Gypsy Themed Swap items for my partner

I can't believe I didn't post this picture -  I made this dressform for a secret sister.  (A while back) I pondered over this for quite some time and couldn't figure how to complete this lil gal.

This is what I ended up with.  I trimmed down one of those mesh bling (got this one from FreeSpirit Production's zibbit store).  I used the bling as her necklace/choker and trim around her top.

Here's the box I made for my swap partner.

Inside the box.

Altered Paint Brush

I made this altered paint brush for a swap on FaceBook.  (Northern Lights Illumination group).  I really love how it came out.  I'm not sure if I made a video about this but here are some pix.  The butterfly is handmade and from my friend from Singapore.  Some flowers from  store.Liz y Jose's Zibbit

Altered Sign

I made this sign for my sister.  She moved into an actual office and requested I make her a sign for her office.  This sign is metal and I got it from Jo's a while back.  I started to make it a mixed media, but during the process, I changed my mind.  I used an old paper line from CTMH.  I think it was called Sonoma.  I really loved this color and it's also my sister's favorite color.  I cut her name from SCAL2.

Upclose of the flowers I used.  The flowers are from Liz y Jose's Zibbit store.  I've ordered from her before and the prices are very reasonable and quick shipping.  The black acrylic glass spray is from another zibbit store (FreeSpirit).  The rolled dictionary flower is from Tiffany.  I swapped with a couple of years ago and this is what I had left from the hoard vault.

I got this (cream) spray is from Tuesday Morning.  I had two of them and I gave one away as a swap item.  I really really really love it.

Thanks for looking.

Downloading SVG files

I had lost my jump drive in our move from Dallas back to Albuquerque.  :/  This particular jump drive had *ALL* my svg files that I had DL'd from all the talented SVG creators.  :(  Now I gotta DL them again.

I started with Images by Heather M.  I love her work.  She also has some tutorials on her blog as well.  Thanks Heather!

How I Made my cover

This is how i made my cover for my mixed media art journal.  I really love how it came out.  I kept touching it..

I do need to be better at sewing the papers together (aligning wise) it was a tad off but still off enough to bother me.. LOL

I used distressed the grungepaper with TH distress ink Frayed Burlap.

I used the TH tool at first but it was taking too long and just started using the ink pad directly onto the grungepaper then used the spongey thing to swipe the ink.. worked so much better (for me)

After the ink dried (used heat tool to help it along) i used some Tattered Angel glimmer mist (Suede)

After I had glimmer mist and inked it and i wanted a lil bit more of an orange'ish color I added another color of distressed ink to it.  I used TH's Rusty Hinge to it.  It worked for the feel i was looking for.

In this step i used the following products to acheive the look i wanted.   More suede glimmer mist, the mustard'ish color of Gelato, the goldish color of perfect pearls which i mixed with water and used it in the mini mister.

Here's how that turned out.. I used the colors as i wanted.. I love it.

These are the stamps and other products i've used..

I used the clear gesso on the cover because i wanted to seal in my techniques.

Here's the cover before i sewed it together.

I had problems with my sewing machine and had to get help from my local friend to adjust my sewing machine..

Here's the sewing machine i used.  It's an old one.. I really like it though. It's simple. LOL

Once I sewed my two pages together I put glossy accents on the inside/outside of the book.  Being it's going to be used alot i didn't want the thread to come undone.  If you notice there's two different types of stitching it's because I couldn't figure out which one I wanted to use.

It took me a while to figure out how I wanted to do the closure.  I wanted to use the zutter closures.. But then i really loved how the texture of the grunge paper came out and didn't want to cut anymore off then I already had.  So, i just folded the excess over and made added a buttong and string type to it for closure.  I really love it.  I stamped the excess that was going to be folded over and I'm totally in love with it.

Here's the buttong i used for it.
