I made an accordion book for the Twilight Saga Tag Swap i was in hosted by Bona on youtube. Well she also made an accordion book for her tags, which i thought was a good idea, so i made one also. I made this for Sara. I hope she likes it. Here's some pictures of her book.

Done - 01/23/2010

Another l/o i did back in January. As you can tell i started out strong doing ALOT of layouts in january, until i started buying, buying, and buying.. LOL

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Got this double 12x12 sketch from January's PageMaps' website.
Here's my version of the sketch. :) I challenged myself to use texture and dimension on a layout w/out using dry embossing.
Dimension: used pop dots on the chipboard *hearts that i got from a swap that I hosted. I also stamped the heart w/a background stamp from SU after i heat embossed it - so while it was still hot i stamped it. (learned this techie from one of Sandy G's guest on DIY)
texture: heat embossed the hearts and the paper is embossed.
Done - 01/30/2010
Another l/o i did for some challenges that i didn't post until now. :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I love this sketch b/c it could be used as a card or a layout. Although, i think it was supposed to be for a card.. LOL

Sketch and Stash Challenge blog is a great blog and i love that we can use our stash, which is what i've been doing for the past several months. It's a scarey thing to know that i have plenty of stuff in my stash to make a few books. LOL Again, found this site from Scraps 4 Fun's Blog.

Challenged myself to INK It up!! Use your inks to enhance your pages.. whether it be for masking (like i did ) or stamping.. Get your stamp pads out or your cats eyes.. Start using them.. LOL

Here's my version. I used alot of new kewl stuff that Sandra Pedromo sent me. She was my January Mini Album Supply kit swap partner at The Scrapbeach. She sent me so much goodies..

SAS Happy Hour -Challenge #1 1_30

Love this sketch from Got Sketch? Diggen on that name!! LOL

Challenged the ladies on SAS to use odd letters for their titles. (use those unwanted letters.. mix 'em up and make it work!!!) :)

Here's my take on the sketch.. :) I used the QVC chipboards and mix-n-matched the letters.

SAS Challenge #3 - 01/23/2010

Take Two:
Okay, i lost most of my post - sometimes having a laptop really really sucks!! augh..

I found this sketch from a site called Pencil Lines. They have some awesome sketches. If you get a chance stop by there and check out their blog. :-)

I gave the ladies on SAS a two part challenge.

1) Use two or more stamps on their layouts.
2) use pictures that are longer than a year old.

Here's my take on the sketch.

1)The stamps i used are a journaling spot acrylic stamp and a alpha stamp that i got on clearance at Tuesday Morning. And according to Ziggs' rule of thumb, the alpha stamps have paid itself off about 4 layouts ago. LOL

2)The pictures i've had longer than one year AND they're pictures from 3 Christmas' ago! *phew*

SAS Challenge #2 - 01/23/2010

Another sketch from Scrapsketch - great site you should visit them..

The Challenge was to "let it shine" LOL - sparkle up your page.. Use glitter, glimmer mist, stickles, rhinestones, whatever it takes to shine up your page.. LOL

Here's my take on the sketch - I used stickles on the flowers that i got from a swap that i hosted on DIY (raw chipboards) and i used rhinestones for the center of the bottom flowers and used stickles on all the flowers. I also used TH's perfect pearls used w/water to spray on the page - faux glimmer mist. :)

SAS Challenge #11 - 01/16/2010

Sketch using Amyee's sketch Aka A Sketchin' Southernbelle - check her sketches out.. :)

I challenged the ladies on SAS to use this sketch and to use a techie they haven't used before.

Here's my take on Amyee's sketch.
Technique i used that i haven't used before was distressing the lace. I need to match the lace as close as i can to the papers and the color scheme. :)

I also used some pearl strings (flat pearls strings) I also used Velma's technique for her infamous embossed flowers.

SAS Challenge #10 - 01/16/2010

Here's a sketch from ScrapRoomBlueprints - i'm really loven their sketches these days..

I challenge the ladies on the SAS message board to use this sketch as a guide and to use something new, something old and something blue.

Here's my take on the sketch..
Blue: Bazzil blue cardstock from the stack of shaped papers, BG pp is blue/old and bazzill flowers,
Old: lots of old going on.
New: Embossing powder, ribbons, rhinestones.

SAS Challenge #8 - 01/16/2010

Found this on Unscripted Sketches - I love their sketches b /c you can either use them as a card sketch or layout sketch. Challenge here was to use the sketch as a guideline and make your own embellishments.

Here's my version of the sketch.. I made my own lollipop flowers and used made on of the flowers from acetate. :)

she creates and she can make cards!!!

With the help of Sara, we made cards last nite and this afternoon!! We had a GREAT time. She really pushed me to the limit as far as paper piecing goes. (AND getting those Halloween cards done-THANKS SARA!) We found out she's a much better paper piecer than I am!! LOL

We got out my cricut & DL'd some files (some from the Dafont and other from the ladies at craftedge forums and some from our very own Aimee!!) (((I'll come back & post credit to the file makers, i need to browse thru my lapttop and see what files i got from where.)
Importantly, I used everything here from MY STASH!!!! I'm so stoked!! Items i've hoarded for years!!!!! AGAIN, Thank you Sara for making me use these items!!! :) (Items from swap items, secret sister gifts)

I got this from Amyee's blog. We used the haunted house. Twas fun!! Sara pieced the house together and we sticked the moon and chalked the edges..

I got these bat files from cuts4scrapbooking blog. (I think that the was the name of the blog, i'll get the site when i got thru my laptop.

These next three, i don't remember the name of the blogs that i DL'd them from, but like i stated, i'll get the name of the blogs that i got them from. Such awesome talent on the net that these people have! Thanks for letting me use them! :)

I got these images from dafont.com

Sara Board Book

I made this book quite some time ago, using Bree's tutorial :) Finally posting it now.. actually finally took a pix of it. :) I must say, i'm glad she only has 4 letters in her name! LOL Thanks gurl! I'm glad you did, i also love your 'trimming' tip.. it's awesome!!

For the back of the book, i'm going to put her last name w/a heart on it.

I used alot of my stash embellies for this - the paper is more mustard designer series and used TAC stamps. I used my BIA to bind the book.

Journals

I have a secret love for journals~~~~ the art journal was great b/c i had plenty of 'empty' journals to pick from.. I love love books.. i love to smell them... I love to hear them crack when you open a brand new book.. i just love books.. especially journals.. LOL i love to write stupid things and things that don't mean anything - just write.. anyway, that being said, i was looking at the blog of the art journal blog that i'm participating in and saw some book about acrylics. I went to BnN this evening and naturally the book i went there for wasn't there.. *rolleyes* however, i did find a whole bunch of other art books, journal books.. LOL ohhh i love bookstores..

I saw this book and i loved it! I thought this would be great for Sara, being that she loves books too. (i'm constantly buying journal books for her and lucky me, she's a mini-me.. LOL)

anyway.. i love this book!! (right up the art journal book alley)

Here's alink and you can check out the book.. IT'S AWESOME.. i may get this for her and send it her way.. LOL I KNOW SHE'LL DIG IT!!

Another Sara L/o

I was going to try and make Zigg's challenge into a double l/o but i didn't have it in me to get that far.. LOL

Using the b/w pix i came up w/this l/o using the same sketch from page maps that Ziggs used as a guide line.

the paper is BG Blush and i used the grungeboard on this l/o. Used Cricut Printing Press for the title and the BG alpha stickers. I'm still using that paper.. LOL

Zigg's sketch challenge

Ziggs had a sketch challenge on her blog (http://ziggyeor.blogspot.com/2009/01/well-i-was-going-to-be-better.html) this is what i came up with! :) Twas fun,, Thanks Mel!!!
p/s these were her conditions:
Use the Page Map (Becky Fleck Jan '09)
You must use buttons
Use some type of stitching (machine, hand, faux)
I used buttons and the sketch and i used a faux stitching.. Hmm maybe i should've taken a closer pix of it.. oh well.. LOL trust me, it's there.. *wink*
