Challenge #6 - TheScrapBeach

Challenge#6 - All My Memories:

The prize for this challenge is the All My Memories
Tote-Ally Cool Tote. The sixth challenge is simply to go through your photos, choose one {or more} that triggers a memory and makes you smile, and put them on a layout! Scrapbooking is about preserving all our memories, so just go for it!

I took this picture at Rick's niece's first birthday party. I love looken at this picture. It's perfect and always makes me jealous that i never had a picture like this with my dad. LOL

Challenge #3 - Scrapbeach

Here's the layout i made for Challenge #3. It's a sketch layout and the prize for this challenge is Becky Fleck's book, PageMaps.

The third challenge is to make a layout based on this sketch from Becky Fleck's July 2010 PageMaps. For more sketch ideas, check out her awesome site each month, as well as her fantastic books.

Here's my take on the sketch-Challenge.

Challenge #2 - Scrapbeach

Here's Challenge #2 for The Beach's online crop. I made this for my uncle. The picture is of my (late) dad and my uncle. The layout is going in a shadow box. I'm going to send it to my uncle for my dad's birthday in a couple of weeks. He would've been 63. :( .. .. (actually, i'm going to make another one like this for my other other uncle and send it to me as well).

The second challenge is to make a layout without any fancy pre-made embellishments. You can use cardstock, patterned paper, stamps, ink, paint and all those sorts of goodies, but set aside the Primas!

Here's my submission for this challenge.
The two larger lollipop flowers are not made by me. (Gold flower i bought from Sandra from her etsy. The turquoise flower is made by Irene C. We were in a swap on the beach that Lyla hosted)
The paper flower i made for Lyla's swap.
The hat pins i made. :)
TH: Ornate plates, Grungeboard Alpha "M"
Burlap (rec'd from Sandra in a swap we did in Jan '10)
Prima Canvas -used a background stamp and used GM (i can't remember what color)
Background paper is G45 Le Romantique
I loved this challenge and I've been wanting to do this layout/shadowbox for quite some time. I *KNOW* I wouldn't have done it if i were doing it on my own. It would've been too difficult for me to do.

The Beach Online Crop

My friend, Becca, Rick and I went to Jill's house for The Beach Online Crop last nite. We had so much fun. Becca worked on her beading and Jill and I got some layouts completed. *wihoo* We had a wonderful dinner.. VERY YUMMY! Jill is such a great hostess, thank you JILL!! I almost completed 5 challenges! *sigh* We spent the night, er, morning at Jill's.

Our drinkies.... :) ~ Cheers Kate!

Our hostess with the MOSTESS!!

Becca's beading is so wonderful. She's beading antler's for a craft show for a rodeo in Wichita Falls, TX.

June Recap

June has certainly been busy for me. Work is hectic and i have my two nephews with us til July 3rd. We're going to take them to Amarillo where my brother is going to meet us to pick up his rug rats! :)

Ty is becoming a better swimmer everyday! He goes to the bottom of the 8 ft pool! Tristen isn't doggie paddling anymore. They're both going to grow gills/fins pretty soon. They're also both VERY dark now! LOL

I haven't really created too much. I don't know how moms with kids are able to scrap and work and take care of their children and their household! Sheesh! I'm a wimpy mom/aunt! LOL The boys take up alot of my time. I take them swimming after i get off from work. Of course, they want to hang out there til 9pm or so but i usually keep in there until about 8 or so. Eat dinner, give Ty a bath and Tris takes a shower. Get them ready for bed and then start a load of laundry. Phew! I'm tried just writing my routine down. Not to mention get myself ready for the next day as well. *oyevey*

I have a boatload of pix and a few projects i'm working on. My desk looks like a tornado hit it. I don't know where to begin to clean up. It's stupid-crazy!! It's baaaaaad. Very bad... :(
